Walking along the top of the rampart you will pass the artillery posts – dips, intended for cannons and crews. 86 fire stations were located on the Fortress ramparts. Handy ammunition stores closed with steel doors are well preserved. Cannon stations called cannon posts served as a protection for particular cannons against opponent’s fire and possible explosion of ammunition. A ground rampart dividing fire stations was intended for protecting adjoining stations in case there is an explosion on such a station.
